iPhone 3.0 “Captive Portal” Solution is Security Risk

The remote-exploit blog is reporting that Apple’s iPhone 3.0 creates a security risk by automatically opening the Safari web browser when the system detects a captive portal.

The exploit would require a hostile network, but this threat is very real for people who “steal” other user’s unsecured wireless network access.
