In the Army now

Time to put down the Crackberry pipe?

with one comment

In what might be the death-nail in its case, Research in Motion (RIM) lost its latest appeal, this time to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in its patent infringement case. NTP, Inc. filed a suit last year regarding patents used in in RIM’s Blackberry devices but held by NTP.

NTP now plans to seek injunctions prohibiting the use of its technology by RIM in the US. US business constitutes about 70% of RIM’s business.

Unless the Supreme Court intervenes, the case is over for RIM. Unlike in 2001, Congress is powerless to bail out RIM.

I’m not sure what all the commuters are going to do on the Metro now.
